Description

Cytochalasin B is a mycotoxin actin polymerization inhibitor initially produced by species of Aspergillus. Cytochalasin B inhibits secretion of corticosterone and aldosterone from the adrenal gland in vivo. In fibroblasts, cytochalasin B inhibits FGF- and PDGF-induced mitogenesis. Additionally, this compound’s disruption of actin polymerization prevents phagocytosis in macrophages.
